'La Sentencia' is richly layered- its textures creates an intimate atmosphere that feels quietly romantic, yet also has undertones of moody introspection that reflect the songs title. Aldana’s saxophone evokes the deep, soulful emotion of the blues rooted in traditional jazz, with a fluidity and expressiveness that captures longing, tenderness, and introspection. Each phrase is carefully measured, yet emotionally overflowing, giving the track a cinematic sense of romance and nuance. “Every single note is a whole world. So there is a technical side to playing, but then there is this mystical side of sound that… I still don’t know exactly what it is.” she says.
